About the event?

The FDI World Dental Congress 2023 (FDIWDC23) provides a unique opportunity to strengthen ties and foster collaboration within the global oral health community, where you will have the chance to get together and meet with leaders within the oral health profession, and beyond, from around the globe.

The Congress will bring with it the prospect to advance the art and science of dentistry by delivering a leading scientific programme, interactive forums, and a dental exhibition. This will be an exceptional platform for the dental profession and the dental industry to be under one roof to deepen our existing relationship and to find innovative ways to deliver optimal oral health to populations everywhere.

When does FDIWDC23 take place?

Sunday 24th – Wednesday 27th September 2023.

Where does it take place?

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), Darling Drive, Darling Harbour.

Who can attend?

All accredited Australian and international media, dental professionals, and practice staff including dentists, hygienists, oral health therapists, dental therapists, dental technicians, dental prosthetists, dental assistants, practice managers, dental students, suppliers and lay persons* (*others connected to the sector are welcome).

How many CPD hours are available?

175+ hours (programme subject to change).

How/when will I get my CPD/CERP/attendance certificate?

You will be able to access and download this via the FDIWDC23 app. Instructions will be provided when the app is launched.

When does early registration close?

Early registration closes on 31st March 2023.

Is there a charge to attend the exhibition only?

There is no charge, but all attendees must register to be able to enter. Exhibition only registration will launch closer to the event and be available onsite. Children under the age of 18 do not need to register to attend the exhibition.

How do I get a letter for a visa?

For more information, visit world-dental-congress.org/visa-information/. Delegates must register before being eligible to receive a visa letter. You can request your visa letter as part of the registration process.

What if my visa is denied?

We will refund your fee if it meets the cancellation policy. Please refer to https://2023.world-dental-congress.org/wp-content/uploads/FDI-WDC-2023-Fees-Information.pdf *conditions apply.

Where will the exhibitors be from?

We anticipate exhibitors will be both national and international companies, with many known and new brands represented.

Are the social events included in the price of registration?

The opening ceremony is included. Other events, including the Gala Dinner and Sydney Night etc. are at an additional cost. Limited tickets will be made available for these events.

Is there a social programme?

There are additional social offerings currently being finalised. All details and associated costs will be announced when ready, with activities subject to change.

Will there be a creche?

Yes, we will be providing a creche free for paid registered delegates to book. You can find out more information about what is being offered when you register online. If you are already registered, please contact our registration team for the online booking form FDIWDC2023@ozaccom.com.au.

Can children attend the sessions?

To ensure delegates enjoy an uninterrupted experience during sessions, we do not allow children to attend programme.

Can children enter the exhibition?

It is preferred that children do not attend the exhibition, but we appreciate sometimes there isn’t an alternative. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 18 do not need to register.

Do I have to preselect the sessions I want to attend?

We do not require you to preselect your sessions. You are able to attend any of the main scientific sessions.

Will there be workshops and lunch and learns?

Yes, these programme offerings are currently being finalised and will be made available when ready. There will be an additional cost to attend. Limited spaces available.

Will there be any Industry Symposiums?

Yes, these are currently being finalised and will be made available when ready. There will be an additional cost to attend. Limited spaces available.

Will there be a Congress app?

Yes, this is being developed and will be launched shortly.

Are any sessions available online?

At this stage, we are putting all efforts into making this a successful face to face event.

Is there an Accompanying Person’s programme?

Yes, this programme is currently being finalised and will be made available shortly. Once finalised we will be able to determine the cost. Limited spaces will be available. An accompanying person will be able to enter the exhibition, opening ceremony and their dedicated programme but are not permitted to attend the scientific sessions. They will be able to purchase tickets to social events.

Will media be in attendance?

Yes, we will have media present throughout the event.

Are delegates free to talk to media if they wish to or if they get approached?

Yes, delegates will be permitted to talk to media, however media are not permitted to use the material without the organisers sign off.

Where can I find more information on the venue?

Can groups register for VIP registrations?

No, VIP registration is only for full paying delegates.

I am unable to attend the Congress. Can a colleague of mine, who is going to the Congress, present it on my behalf?

The paper must be presented by the author or co-authors. If your colleague is not the co-author of the work, it is not possible to present it on your behalf. If any of the co-authors are attending the Congress, they may present it instead of you. Changes of presenter must be communicated to Congress Management before the author registration deadline by emailing FDIWDC2023@ada.org.au. Papers will be excluded from the Abstract Program if presenting author changes are not communicated accordingly.

I registered for the Congress, but I did not receive a confirmation email. What should I do?

Please send an email to FDIWDC2023@ozaccom.com.au with your registration number and your request. A confirmation email will be sent to you shortly.

What will be the content of the app?

The app will have the most current content at any given time and will continue to be updated during the Congress. The full Congress programme will be available with detailed information on sessions, locations and speakers. It will also include an interactive floor plan of the entire ICC Venue to help delegates find their way around. It will feature the Exhibition floor plans and the Exhibitors and Sponsor lists and much much more.

Will the presentations be available in any other language?

No. All FDI scientific sessions will be presented in English.
